When They Hear It on FOX News
I recall my history teacher telling us how news channels are seldom objective, but usually side with a mainstream political party. (He didn't use precisely those words.) He said that if we examined a news broadcast closely, we could determine which party it supports. That was way back in 1980 though. It's 2022 now, and close examination is unnecessary. Let's look at some YouTube news clips. CNN: 'Could be the Thing that Takes Him [Trump] Down'; '[Trump's Statements] Totally Untrue'; MSNBC: 'Dangerous Republican Rhetoric', 'Trump's Insane New Document Defence', 'Trump's Defence Won't Hold Up in Court'; ABC News: 'Trump Pleads the Fifth'; 'Fallout After FBI Raids'; CBS News: 'Backlash Against Trump'; PBS News: 'FBI Retrieve Classified Documents from Trump's Home'; 'Trump Refuses to Answer Questions'; 'Trump Policy Separates Migrant Families'... Not hard to gather whose side they're against. Now let's look at FOX News: 'FBI Raid Done with Political Lens', 'Trump Raid Not About Classified Information', 'FBI Raid a First Step to Tyranny'... Easy to see whose side they're on. (And the Canuck News? Mostly like NBC's.)

It's too bad the media are only capable of giving us black or white in their reporting when the truth is always grey. It means we're hardly getting any information at all from them. They're so heavily biased in their reporting, they couldn't see the truth to save their lives. That goes for both sides of this war between right and left. It almost makes me wish for another civil war, if only to resolve these divisive issues once and for all at the point of a gun.

Is it just me or is the eagerness of NBC reporters to dance on Trump's grave somewhat unbecoming? They probably blame FOX News for the rise of the extreme right since the 1980's. Well, maybe if the so-called 'mainstream' networks had tried to be a little more neutral in their reporting, FOX News would never have come into existence. When you only ever tell one side of the story, it creates a void for men like Rupert Murdoch to step in and fill, as he has done most successfully with FOX News. I have a Conservative friend, and it's the only news he trusts.

Anyway, my point is this. If the media are ever going to make their dreams of destroying Donald J. Trump come true, they need FOX News on their side. Just as it took FOX News to concede defeat in the last election to convince Republicans, they now need FOX News to prevent him from running again and possibly winning a second term. All this adversity from the usual adversaries will only make him look stronger. Republicans hate CNN and MSNBC, so bashing Trump on those networks will only reinforce their loyalty to him.

On something else I heard tonight about the 'crazy conspiracy theories' of the new right, I was the victim of a conspiracy that involved the whole media and all their stars. There's nothing crazy about it except that it nearly drove me crazy. It's a conspiracy you never hear about from the media because it's a conspiracy that served them. Therefore, in my books, a news reporter can't utter the word 'conspiracy' without being a hypocrite. By the way, YouTube? George Carlin's buddy Bill Maher was in on that conspiracy that nearly cost me my life. So flush his video clips down the toilet for me, will you?

Tools of Oppression My foot is still hurting, but I work on it anyway. Not much fun going to a warehouse job with a sore foot. We have no more doctors or nurses in Canada. They've all moved to the U.S. for bigger paychecks. If you get hurt in Canada, you just have to do without medical attention.
